THE ILLUMINATORS

During Tarmon Gai'don, the Illuminators were left out, without a Chapter house, unable to trade. A few years following the Last Battle, however, a group of Illuminators begun the Guild again, re-locating to Mayene for an unknown reason, and paying their taxes their, setting up a chapter house.
No matter the reason, their seemingly illogical decision forced many to visit Mayene, which helped to increase Mayene's own presence in the world by encouraging trade. The Illuminator's continue to do what they have always done: experimenting with fireworks.

Or so it seems to the common observer. During the years leading to Tarmon Gai'don, the Great Hero called Matrim Cauthon discovered that fireworks could be used as a weapon. Since the Illuminators learned of this, they have been experimenting in ballistics, unofficially, both for the High Lords of Mayene and for their own purposes. Rumors of a fantastic weapon called by some 'Cannon', being sported by Mayener ships, are unconfirmed. It is believed this weapon is a form of ter'angreal, which is in no way linked to the One Power. Its reliability in battle is untested...as of yet.
