These oils are very useful in rituals when astral candles are used to
represent individuals. In making these oils, use only one herb or flower
listed for each of the zodiac signs, following the same technique. There are
many different suggestions of colored candles to use for each zodiac sign.
It's suggested to use whichever authority you place the most confidence in.
Aries (March 21- April 19):
Pine, cypress, betony, cowslip, nettles, wormwood, anemone, geranium.
Taurus (April 20- May 20):
Musk, rose, carnation, honeysuckle, violet, saffron, burdock, golden rod, mint, periwinkle, primrose, strawberry, vervain, mallow, jasmine, clover.
Gemini (May 21- June 21):
Yellow rose, jasmine, bayberry, mastic resin, sandalwood, caraway seed, marjoram, parsley, gladiolus, orchid.
Cancer (June 22- July 22):
Aloe, water lily, hyacinth, all nocturnal flowers, bay leaves, larkspur, cedar, myrtle, cinnamon, poppy, blam, daisy, buckbean, sweet flag, sundew, lotus, agrimony.
Leo (July 23- Aug. 22):
Red sandalwood, frankincense, camphor, cassia, clove, golden rod, great celandine, eyebright, poat's rue, chamomile flowers, sunflower.
Virgo (Aug. 23- Sept. 22):
Morning glory¸ cornflower, asters, petunias, citron peel, mace, caraway seed, male fern, horehound, lavender, lily, marjoram, snowdrop, narcissus.
Libra (Sept. 23- Oct. 22):
Calendula, violet, rose, satinwood, burdock, golden rod, mint, periwinkle, primrose, vervain, pennyroyal, aloe, sandalwood.
Scorpio (Oct. 23- Nov. 21):
Chrysanthemum, pine, yucca, rosemary, dogwood, anemone, little calendine, nettles, wormwood, basil, vanilla leaf, cypress.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22- Dec. 21):
Daffodil, narcissus, aster, nutmeg, clove, saffron, pimpernel, cinquefoil (five-finger grass), balsam, goat's beard, sage.
Capricorn (Dec. 22- Jan. 19):
Frankincense, khus khus, carnation, comfrey, dandelion, Iceland moss, flax seed, thistle, sorrel.
Aquarius (Jan.20- Feb. 18):
Violets, daffodil, pine, pepperwort, scatica-wort, comfrey, Iceland moss, flax seed, poppy, southernwood, valerian, absinth, fennel, buttercup.
Pisces (Feb. 19- March 20):
Lilac, lilies (including water lillies), clove, nutmeg, carnation, cinquefoil, balsam, sage, dock, pellitory, birthwort.
